| Braves-Rockies game postponed due to snow ATLANTA AT COLORADO, POSTPONED (SNOW) |

DENVER (Ticker) -- For the second time in less than two weeks, Jeff Francis has to re-work his schedule around the weather. Francis and the Colorado Rockies had their Thursday afternoon contest with the Atlanta Braves postponed due to snow. The game will be made up at Coors Field on June 16, previously an open date for each club. With some snow already on the ground, Denver expects another three to five inches during the day Thursday. It marked the second time this season that the Rockies have had a game postponed that Francis was scheduled to pitch. The lefthander was Colorado's starting pitcher March 31 on Opening Day against the St. Louis Cardinals, a contest which was postponed by rain. Francis struggled in the rain-washed contest 10 days ago, allowing five runs in 2 1/3 innings. Francis (0-1) also was roughed up in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, yielding five runs and 12 hits in 6 1/3 frames. A British Columbia native, Francis will take the mound Friday when the reigning National League champion Rockies visit the Diamondbacks in the opener of a nine-game road trip. Tim Hudson (1-0), who was scheduled to pitch Thursday for the Braves, will be pushed back to Friday's three-game series opener against the Washington Nationals. Hudson took the loss March 30 at Washington, surrendering two runs and three hits over seven solid innings. The righthander rebounded Saturday against the New York Mets, tossing six frames to record the win. |
