Meet the Experts

Derek Farnsworth, aka Notorious, is one of the most recognizable names and faces in all of DFS, thanks in large part to the great advice he gives on a daily basis in RotoGrinders.com's Grind Down for NBA and MLB as well as the First Look column that gives a preview of the day's games from a DFS perspective. Before joining the RotoGrinders team, Derek received a Master's Degree from the University of Utah. When he's not busy providing content, he's dominating the industry, as evidenced by his consistent top rankings in multiple sports. Farnsworth provides expert analysis for RotoGrinders Premium members on a daily basis during the NBA season and has also been nominated for five different Fantasy Sports Writers Association (FSWA) awards.

You may recognize Derek Carty from his role on Baseball Tonight, his articles at ESPN.com, or his occasional SportsCenter appearances. He's also been published by FOX Sports, Sports Illustrated, NBC's Rotoworld, FanDuel, and Fantasy Insiders, among many others. He's a long-time DFS player and the creator of THE BAT and THE BLITZ, perhaps the most sophisticated DFS projection systems on the market. Prior to DFS, Derek honed his statistical chops as the Fantasy Manager of two of the biggest sabermetric outlets, Baseball Prospectus and The Hardball Times (now the nerdier branch of FanGraphs (yes, that's a thing!), and holds an elite track record in year-long expert leagues (six titles while finishing top-3 over 50% of the time). He's™s also the only active fantasy writer to have graduated from MLB's exclusive Scout School, which he blends with his statistical background to form a complete picture of a player.

The ScoresAndOdds Prop Model, introduced in early 2022, uses a time-tested stat projection model to simulate the outcome of each game over and over again. Statistics are logged during each simulated trial, and the results are then compared to the odds presented by the sportsbook to determine the best bets.

Stephen Keech (sbk5065 on most sites) is a Penn State graduate from the city of Champions. He is a lead RotoGrinders Contributor and manages player news, projections, and starting lineups for NFL, MLB, and NBA.

Dana Forden is a long-time professional gambler and one of the primary contributors for the RotoGrinders Specialist package, which includes the best MMA and eSports projections in the industry. He studied economics at university before becoming a professional poker player and later moving to DFS. This gambling history, along with being a long-time student of sports analytics, has led to an excellent breadth of knowledge on the intersection between gambling, statistics, and sports.
