Barstool Sportsbook Promo Code
From the bombastic brain of media-friendly entrepreneur Dave Portnoy has come Barstool Sportsbook, a brand that has its sights set on becoming a household name among sports bettors in the exploding U.S. legal sports betting industry.

More on Barstool Sportsbook
As previously mentioned, Barstool Sports started as a sports media brand headed by Dave Portnoy, born in Boston with aspirations to make himself a big name… with big personalities and equally big rhetoric surrounding sports and pop culture.
Barstool Sportsbook was able to combine the press exposure, controversial and otherwise, that they got from their enormous media empire with their primary sports focus and made a logical move into the sports betting universe. Barstool Sports was seemingly tailor-made for the sports betting industry, leveraging the huge Barstool Sports audience into potential Barstool Sportsbook customers.
Barstool Sports brought with it a huge and loyal fanbase to the sports betting world. Prior to entering the sports betting scene, the company boasted 9.2 million unique listeners each month from their 38+ podcasts.
Penn Entertainment
Heavyweight U.S. legal sports betting provider Penn Entertainment (formerly Penn National Gaming) recognized the potential of the high-profile Barstool brand and purchased the company in February 2020. It was anticipated that Penn National’s connections and Barstool’s profile would translate into an unstoppable sports wagering force.
While somewhat successful, Barstool’s standing in the broader U.S. legal sports betting market has been static since its initial launch, despite the potential of flipping its huge audience and loyal followers (known as Stoolies) to the Barstool Sportsbook brand. Barstool Sportsbook generates revenue that is enviable among the lesser-known sportsbooks, but it has not broken out and stands far away from overtaking the top sportsbooks in all states where it operates.
States Where Barstool Sportsbook Operates
Barstool Sportsbook has been able to expand its sports betting brand rapidly in the U.S. market since launching in Pennsylvania in September 2020. Some of the expansion can be attributed to the existing casinos owned by Penn Entertainment, which officially completed its purchase of 100% of the Barstool brand in August 2022 and was able to tether Barstool Sportsbook to its casinos.
Here is a list of states in which you can find the Barstool Sportsbook brand, in order of launch date:

Michigan | Barstool Greektown Casino | January 2021 |
Illinois | Hollywood Casino Aurora | March 2021 |
Indiana | Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg | May 2021 |
Colorado | Ameristar Black Hawk | August 2021 |
Virginia | N/A | August 2021 |
New Jersey | Freehold Raceway | August 2021 |
Tennessee | N/A | September 2021 |

West Virginia | Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races | November 2021 |
Louisiana | Boomtown Casino | January 2022 |
Kansas | Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway | September 2022 |
Ohio | Hollywood Casino Columbus | January 2023 |
Barstool Sportsbook Ongoing Promotions
Many sportsbooks in the U.S. market throw all of their eggs into the welcome bonus basket and have little focus on ongoing promotions for existing customers. Barstool has smartly taken a different approach, offering frequent updates and new promotional value to their current customers.
Such promotions frequently change – be sure to check the promotions page regularly to find the latest deals. Barstool’s $10 sign-up bonus seems to be a regular feature, as are odds boosts and parlay insurance bets that change frequently. The company also boasts Over/Under bonuses, home run bonuses and other creative fun incentive-based promotions for its loyal client base.
In general, Barstool does a very good job in providing existing bettors extra value for their betting dollar, no matter how long they have been a customer. Focus on providing monetary motivation for current clients is just as important as ones for potential new clientele.

Barstool Banking Options
There has been an increased spotlight on sportsbook banking options. Barstool definitely offers more than most of its competitors, which is good news for customers who want different options for their deposits and withdrawals. Barstool offers the following banking options:
Credit or Debit Card: The most common way to fund your Barstool Sportsbook account. Use your Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or mycash to deposit and withdraw funds.
Online Banking: Your Barstool account sinks up directly with your bank account. Deposits, assuming that your bank supports funding from online gambling companies, are instant. Withdrawals can take 3-5 business days.
ACH e-Check: An option that works like the online banking method. Checking and savings accounts can be used. Deposit limits can vary from state to state.
Wire Transfer: Not an instant method of funding your Barstool account. Send funds to your account via transfer directly from your bank. Be sure that your personal bank supports transfers to online gambling companies.
PayPal: E-wallet option that allows for instant deposits. Set up a PayPal account and deposit and withdraw funds into your Barstool account.
Apple Pay: Reliable and instant banking method, tailor-made for those accessing the Barstool Sportsbook from their iOS device. Funds are deposited or withdrawn directly from your Apple Pay wallet, in conjunction with Visa, MasterCard, or Discover debit/credit.
Play+ Card: Barstool Sportsbook & Casino branded Play+ account banking options are instant and can be funded with credit or debit cards, as well as directly from your bank account.
PayNearMe: An option for those that maybe don’t have a bank account or credit card. Fund your Barstool account with cash by visiting a local CVS, 7-Eleven, or Family Dollar.
Barstool Sportsbook Safety and Security
There are always questions about the safety and security of a given sports betting website. Barstool Sportsbooks’ ties to Penn Entertainment erased many of those concerns because of their standing as an elite, experienced provider.
Digging deeper, we were satisfied by the 13 individual state licenses that the company has received, and the 256-bit encryption technology used by the sportsbook to keep your personal and banking information safe. We found that Barstool employs technologies from the best security companies in the world.
Barstool Sportsbook App Review
The Barstool Sportsbook app checks most of the boxes necessary to be considered a top-tier sports betting brand. The look and feel of the site are very good and worthy of their reputation as a top provider in the U.S. market. During testing, we were impressed with the visual appeal of the brand and its easy-to-navigate and responsive product.
As previously mentioned, Barstool Sportsbook is readily available, for desktop from your favorite browser or on your favorite mobile device. The Barstool site itself allows you to get in on their wagering action and has links to the App Store and Google Play Store. For what it is worth, the App Store gives Barstool Sportsbook at a 4.8/ rating. The Google Play Store has it at 3.4/5.
Barstool has done well to develop an interface that will appeal to all, from its easy sign-up to the ease of which you can withdraw funds. The color scheme and overall look of the app is one of the best in the market – more appealing than most of its competition.
More on the Barstool Sportsbook App
The overall appearance of the app is one of a modern, well-organized, and relatively clutter-free product that somehow manages to include all relevant waging material such as stats and wagering instructions for both the novice and veteran gambler – right on the main page.
We were extremely impressed with the speed of the Barstool sportsbook and the responsiveness of the app. There was zero lag-time in our tests and no glitchiness at all during our full tour of the app itself. Navigating the app was a snap and the overall experience was hassle-free, thanks in part to the overall cleanliness of the online product.
Barstool Sportsbook also allows you, the bettor to personalize your betting app to focus on your favorite sport or team and has a couple of unique features that separate the sportsbook from some of their competition in the market. Included on that list is a “Move the Line” option that allows bettors to buy and sell points and essentially choose the odds for a given game and a rash of available stats to better inform bettors on the site.
Overall, Barstool Sportsbooks ranks near the top as far as their wagering app. There are few holes in the betting experience from start to finish with the Barstool brand.
Barstool Sportsbook Available Sports
Barstool Sportsbook’s experience catering to the wagering public, plus their partnership with Penn Entertainment is evident in the menu of sports that their wagering app offers. Our Barstool Sportsbook review 2022 found all of North America’s biggest sports included on the Barstool sports betting menu, plus a host of international (some obscure) sporting events.
Barstool’s sports menu is among the best in the market. They cover most of the major pro sports leagues both domestic and foreign and major college action in North America. The list of sports on the Barstool app includes:
- Australian Rules
- Baseball
- NBA Basketball
- NCAA Basketball
- NCAA Football
- NFL Football
- Boxing
- Cricket
- Cycling
- Darts
- Formula 1
- Golf
- Hockey
- Motorsports
- Rugby League
- Rugby Union
- Soccer
- Tennis
- UFC/MMA
- Volleyball
Bet Types Available on Barstool
Barstool Sportsbook is considered a major sports wagering brand and their list of sports betting options backs up that claim. We found a full menu of betting markets in our Barstool Sportsbook review and one of the most complete lists in the North American market.
The comprehensive bet type list includes:
- Moneyline
- Spread
- Totals, or Over/Under
- Parlay (including same game parlay which they call Parlay+)
- Teaser
- Futures
- Prop bets – both game and player props
- Live or In-Game
We found that odds were, for the most part, competitive with each of the Barstool bet types, and even better in some cases. The company has been criticized for having underwhelming odds at times, but we didn’t find that during our testing. In fact, player props had better odds than some of the competition the company faces in the tough North American market.
Same Game Parlay Odds on Barstool Sportsbook
One aspect of Barstool that we found lacking is the Parlay+ option. Same game parlays are all the rage these days, but the Parlay+ same game parlay option offered by Barstool consistently offered lower payouts. As an example, during testing, the Seattle Mariners recently played the Texas Rangers. Before the game, if you wanted the Mariners moneyline and Under 7 runs, the lines were published at -122 and -106, respectively. If you plug those two lines into the handy SAO parlay calculator, you can easily see that the true payout should be +253.
However, Barstool’s Parlay+ offered a payout of +230, which is well below what the actual payout should be based on the listed odds. This is disappointing, but Barstool has to make money somehow, so it’s not surprising that they would goose the odds a bit in their favor. Use this example as a reminder to shop around before you make your wagers. There might be a better payout somewhere else.
Barstool Sportsbook Rewards Program
Rewards/VIP programs have been catching on among providers in the U.S, legal sports betting industry, possibly because of mentions in Barstool Sportsbook reviews such as this.
Barstool Sportsbook has a very good Rewards program, one that piggybacks of a similar program with their parent company, Penn National Gaming. The program is called “mychoice Rewards” and allows customers to earn loyalty points for every bet placed. Simply put, the more you bet, the more points you earn with their tiered Rewards system.
Rewards can range from Barstool branded merchandise, all the way up to free hotel stays and VIP tickets for sports and entertainment events.
We found that the Barstool Rewards program requires a lot of betting to get the best value. But at least there is such a program in place for their customers, unlike many sportsbooks in the U.S. market.
Barstool Sportsbook Customer Service
Customer Service has become an integral part of a sportsbook offering. Barstool Sportsbook reviews like this are increasingly putting a spotlight on those companies that take their support options seriously. Barstool Sportsbook happens to be in that elite class when it comes to service to their clientele, offering not only a wide array of options but also agents that are prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Barstool’s Customer Service options include:
- Comprehensive FAQ section
- Live 24/7 chat – no bots, just an actual person that is friendly and prompt
- Email: more of a messaging format that is reached via the Barstool Support page
- Phone: Callback option available
- Twitter: @BSSportsbook | @barstoolSBhelp
The Barstool FAQ section is impressive, and the Live Chat is one of the best we have seen in the market. Most questions/queries can be addressed with either of these two customer service methods. The other three are terrific compliments too.
Final Thoughts on Barstool Sportsbook
Barstool Sportsbook could have fallen victim to its own hype. Bombast and aggressiveness could have turned Dave Portnoy’s experiment into a failure. But… if you build a professional, appealing, and fun sports betting site… they will come!
Barstool Sportsbook seems to have learned from the Heavyweights that came before them about what makes a successful sports betting site. Overall, our Barstool Sportsbook review experience was excellent, from the time we signed in, to the time we cashed out. The interface is clean and modern, and the operations (promotions, sports, bet types, banking and customer service) were top-notch, as was the delivery of each.
Barstool Sportsbook checked all of the necessary sports betting boxes for us. Don’t be turned off by the controversial Dave Portnoy being the face of the Barstool brand. It is a highly recommended sports betting destination for a reason, and a big Thumbs Up from us.
