How to play PrizePicks

Once you’ve logged into PrizePicks, you’re immediately taken to its vast board of player squares from a wide variety of sports. You’ll see it’s pretty self-explanatory. Members are free to enter player squares for DFS scores as well as single stats. PrizePicks offers player squares in so many sports. Currently, you can place entries on NBA, PGA, NCAAM, NCAAW, NHL, Soccer, Tennis, Cricket, and ESports. They are also offering MLB and NFL season long projections.

New for 2024, PrizePicks is now offers entries on Power Slap and Darts. Darts fans can place entries on 180’s Thrown, Total Picks, 1st Pick Checkout Total. Power Slap fans can place entries on the total amount of slaps. They’re also now offering Live Squares, where you can place player picks during the game.

The entire process is very simple. Just pick your favorite players, decide whether they’re going over or under their stat projection for the night, place your entry, watch and win.

There are two types of games you can play on PrizePicks.

First is the Flex Play. Flex play offers a little bit of leeway for the bettor as you don’t have to get every pick right in order to win money. This is nice because it gives you more confidence to stack different picks together, knowing even if you don’t get them all correct you still have a chance to win a payout. You can make up to five picks in a Flex Play and the payouts look like this:

A 0.4x payout doesn’t seem like a lot, but it is 0.4x better than nothing. That 40% return on your entry is at least enough to keep you afloat and allow you to keep playing in hopes of winning big.

You can also make 4-pick, 3-pick, and 2-pick Flex Plays. A 4-pick Flex Play will payout 5x if all four picks are correct and 1.5x if you nail 3 of the 4. A 3-pick pays out 2.25x if you go 3/3 and 1.25x if you miss one. A 2-pick pays out 2x and 0.5x respectively.

The Flex Play is perfect for the average DFS player or sports bettor, as it gives you the best chance to win. When making a Flex Play, it’s probably best to go ahead and use all 5 picks as it gives you the chance at the highest payout, as well as the most chances to win any sort of payout.

For the more seasoned players, or if you’re just feeling extremely confident about your plays, PrizePicks also offers the Power Play. Power Plays offer much higher payouts for entries, but there is no margin for error. You must get every pick correct in order to win. The payouts for Power Plays look like this:

Avid DFS players will be familiar with the scoring formats on PrizePicks, which are standard in most sports. This should make it easy to get acclimated from the jump and make educated picks. The scoring formats for all sports are listed in the scoring chart which is very easy to access.

Demons and Goblins Feature Explained

As of late 2023, PrizePicks released a new feature for their DFS app. Players can upload entries with squares that include red demons or green goblins.

Squares with red demons are statistically harder to win, but have a higher payout. If you choose an entry full of squares marked with demons, you can win up to 100x your original entry!

Squares with green goblins are statistically easier to win, but have a lower payout.

You must pick more on either type of entry. Learn more here about entries with demons and goblins.

PrizePicks New Game: Live Squares

Live picks are sweeping the nation, and now PrizePicks gives users the ability to make picks during the game instead of before!

Just go to the Live Squares section on the PrizePicks app and find the live match that you want to make player picks on, then pick!

PrizePicks New Game: Arena Pick ‘EM

There’s a brand new game on PrizePicks to choose from right now if you’re in the states of Alabama, Delaware, Missouri, Tennessee, West Virginia, Massachusetts or Wyoming. We do expect more states to be added to the chance to play Arena Pick’Em at PrizePicks.

Arena Pick’Em is a new game style where “users compete for guaranteed prizes by being placed into groups matching their number of entries, selected entry fee and experience level on the PrizePicks platform,” the DFS platform said in a press release.

This also made news for PrizePicks expanding into Tennessee for the first time.

PrizePicks Software and Platform

PrizePicks is available on Mac, PC, Android app and iOS app. The interface is super easy to use and doesn’t differ much, if at all, between the different platforms. It’s super easy to make your entries, track your picks, and make deposits. Everything is a breeze and obviously, having access to the mobile apps makes it even that much easier and more accessible. No matter where you are, within seconds you can be on the app scrolling through a wide range of player squares and placing entries on your favorite players in your favorite sports. It’s truly a revolutionary platform in the DFS industry, and it’s easy to see why.
