Resorts Sportsbook Promo Code

Note: Resorts Sportsbook is not operating in New Jersey. The company discontinued its online sportsbook in mid-February 2022. This page is no longer updated.

The Resorts Casino in Atlantic City became the first legal, licensed casino in the U.S. outside of Nevada when it opened its doors in 1978. While AC has experienced great turnover in the decades since, Resorts has stood the test of time and remains a fixture on the boardwalk to this day.

Resorts has used the arrival of online gaming in the U.S. to reinvent itself, and first made headlines in the online sports betting world by hosting two of the industry’s most prominent operators on its license: DraftKings, which was first to market in August 2018, and FOX Bet (via The Stars Group) which launched in September of the same year. Its own, self-branded Resorts Sportsbook debuted a few months later on January 31, 2019, and is another fantastic option within the NJ sports betting scene.

Read on for a full breakdown of the Resorts NJ Sportsbook, including how to register, deposit, and place your bets. Plus, if you’re looking for our Resorts Sportsbook promo code SAOSPORTMAX, or a rewards program breakdown – we’ve got those too.

Resorts Bonus Code

The current Resorts Sportsbook bonus offer consists of a $250 risk-free bet. It’s easy to claim, after creating your account, simply place your first wager. If you book a win, enjoy the profits! However, if it’s a loss, you’ll receive a refund in the form of free bets – up to a maximum of $250. The refund will be awarded within 48 hours of the initial wager settling.

The risk-free bet is only available for new customers, if you’ve already wagered with Resorts, you’re out of luck. There is a fantastic 1x playthrough requirement that bettors will have to negotiate, but that’s a small price to pay. This means you only have to wager the amount of the free bet once before it’s cleared. The play-through rate really elevates the quality of the promotion.

The last notable for the risk-free bet is that it is a single-use bet. That means if you max out the offer and receive a $250 refund on your first bet, you then must wager the full $250 refund at one time. Any amount of the refunded bet left unused will be forfeited – so bet it all!

Step 4: The last piece of the puzzle occurs after you’ve actually created the account. You’ll be automatically moved to a screen that requests the last 4 digits of your SSN. You’re required to provide them before you can place a bet. After that, you’re all done.

Funding Your Account

Once logged in, select the ‘My Account’ button in the top right, then ‘Cashier’ to start the deposit process. Available deposit methods currently include:

When cashing out you can use all of the same methods, though there are a few differences. For example, the minimum for a PayPal withdrawal is $100, and an eCheck will take a little while to arrive (48 hours to process plus 3-5 business days to land). Beyond that, Resorts does a really good job of providing plenty of choice for both deposits and withdrawals.

Placing Your Bet

Once you’ve created your account and deposited some cash, you’re ready to bet. First, you’ll need to navigate to the betting market you’re interested in.

After you’ve found the right event, select the side of the bet that you want to take and it will automatically call it up on your betting slip to the right side of your screen. Enter the amount you want to wager, and click ‘Place Bets’ to finalize it.

Notably, you can add more than one bet to the slip in order to build a parlay – increasing the payout, but decreasing the odds of victory.

Resorts Sportsbook General Info and Active States

Now that PASPA, the repealed law that prohibited sports betting in the U.S., no longer stands in the way, each state is allowed to pursue and develop sports betting laws that meet their specific needs. The sports betting landscape looks different in each of the growing number of states that now have licensed, regulated sports betting. Breaking down the nuances of each state market is a pretty simple task for Resorts, which is currently only available in its home state of New Jersey. We’ll update this space should they expand operations elsewhere.

New Jersey

New Jersey’s sports betting laws are pretty straight forward. You can wager on pretty much any team, in any sport, with a ton of different types of bets on the table.

The lone exceptions of note are related to college sports. Any in-state teams are off-limits, no matter where they’re playing. That means you can’t wager on Rutgers, Princeton, Seton Hall, or any other NJ school playing at home, or on the road.

Second, you can’t wager on any college sporting events taking place inside the state, no matter who’s participating. For example, if Atlantic City is hosting a round of the NCAA tournament, you can’t wager on the games with a NJ sportsbook.

Browser vs Mobile App

Resorts offers wagering through a web browser and via mobile apps. They both offer a solid sports betting experience, so it doesn’t matter which you use. If you prefer having more screen real estate, the computer will offer that – but the convenience of mobile betting is hard to ignore. Thankfully, you don’t have to choose, and can easily use both!

Web Browser

To wager through your browser, you just have to visit the sportsbook, log-in, and you’re ready to bet. You can use any browser, on any type of computer.

The book as a whole has a clean layout, that makes it easy to find upcoming, or even ongoing events. The front page is dedicated to games happening that day. There’s a ‘Today’s Games’ section, along with ‘In-Play’, ‘Highlights’, and ‘Upcoming Events’ which will display anything happening over the next 48 hours. If you’re searching for something happening a little further into the future, there’s a set of ‘Featured’ items on the left, with a long list of sports underneath. There’s also a ‘search’ box in the top left.

Your bet slip is easy to read and appears automatically once you choose a wager. It’ll clearly show you the odds, potential return, and there’s a highly visible ‘Place Bets’ button that can finalize your wager.

The ‘My Account’ section in the top right of the screen is convenient for accessing rewards, bonuses, the cashier, checking rules, or learning about Responsible Gaming resources.

Resorts Mobile App

The Resorts app is dual purpose and covers the company’s casino and sportsbook operations. You can find it in your favorite app store under the ‘Resorts Casino Online’ name. Once you’ve downloaded and logged in to your account, you can access the sportsbook by clicking the ‘More’ button in the top left corner.

The overall layout of the mobile sportsbook is very similar to what you’ll find in the browser. Today’s/In-Play/Upcoming events get precedence in the middle of the screen, though there’s a list of sports just above that which can be used to find something specific.

Generally speaking, you can access every aspect of the book, and perform all key account functions directly from the app without restriction. We did notice that while some online apps, and the Resorts browser will allow you to look at lines while out of state – the Resorts app will constantly ask you to confirm your location… and if you’re not in New Jersey, it shuts you down.

Rewards Programs

Resorts actually offers two core rewards programs, Resorts Rewards and Echelon Rewards. The more points you earn, the more you’ll get back. Customers will receive 1 Reward Point (RP) for every $2 wagered on sports betting.

Resorts Rewards

Every player will start in the Resorts Rewards program. The more you play, and the more RP you accumulate, the higher your tier. The higher your tier, the more money and overall value you can earn back. For example, at the Bronze tier you can only redeem your points for cash at the rate of 20K points for $10. However, once you’ve reached Diamond, your exchange rate improves almost 10 fold, with only 2,220 points needed to receive the same $10.

You’ll be in the Resorts Rewards until your monthly point total eclipses 75,000 – at which point you’re upgraded to the Echelon tiers.

Resorts Rewards

Echelon Rewards

Echelon Rewards are reserved for Resorts’ “most loyal players”. It takes significant volume to get in, but once you arrive, there’s a ton of value out there. The entry level is 75,000 RPs, and there’s tiers all the way up to Elite at 750,000 – plus the invite only Black tier. The exchange rate for points/cash improves with each level, plus all Echelon members receive special gifts, a dedicated playing device, and VIP treatment at the Resorts AC casino.

Echelon Rewards

Notably, you can also earn RP by playing casino games, too.
