Bucks vs. Hawks Game 4 Odds, Picks, Prediction
It’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals and we’ve got Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawksodds, trends, picks, and predictions. Find out how Trae Young’s injury might affect tonight’s matchup for NBA bettors, both against the spread and for player props at online sportsbooks.
After shocking the Bucks in Milwaukee in Game 1, the Atlanta Hawks have lost two in a row and now the Bucks lead the Eastern Conference Finals 2-1. The Hawks get to stay in Atlanta but things won’t be any easier for the Hawks who await an MRI for their superstar 22-year-old, Trae Young. Oddsmakers opened the Bucks as 5-point favorites and now, with about 12 hours before tip-off, the Game 4 spread is Milwaukee -7.
Bucks vs. Hawks Game 4 Odds
- Milwaukee Bucks -7
- Atlanta Hawks +7
- Moneyline: -278/+202
- Over/Under: 219.5
If you aren’t betting the spread, then you’re likely betting the moneyline or over/under. Moneyline bettors must pay a steep price this time if they want to bet on Giannis Antetokoummp and the Bucks. Want to win $10 on the Bucks winning outright? You’ll have to put up nearly $28 for every $10 you wish to win at BetMGM Sportsbook.
On the other hand, if you believe in Young and the Hawks at home, a $10 wager pays out over $20 if they pull off the upset.
How about the over/under, you ask? As of Tuesday morning, Under bettors should head to BetMGM where the total sits at 219.5. Over bettors are best off at FanDuel Sportsbook betting over 218.
Bucks-Hawks Prediction
NBA betting analyst Sloan Piva wrote an in-depth Game 4 preview for tonight’s matchup over at RotoGrinders. There, Piva talks about Khris Middleton stepping up in Game 3, whether he can carry that momentum into Game 4, Young’s ankle injury, and specific Bucks vs. Hawks betting trends.
He points out that, despite winning the series opener this was never an optimal matchup for the Hawks. In fact, the Bucks are 14-3 against the Hawks in their last 17 meetings. “Clearly nobody can slow down Middleton when he reaches NBA 2k ‘fire mode,” Piva writes.
Piva is “all-in” on the Bucks moneyline, but he wrote that while it was still only -240 at sportsbooks. I’m inclined to agree, but I prefer laying the points for the shorter price. If Young is truly hobbled, I simply don’t see how the Hawks can stay apace.
Hawks vs. Bucks Betting Trends
- Atlanta is 26-16 against the spread this season at home (fourth-best home ATS record in the NBA)
- Hawks are 3-7 (30%) in Over bets in their last 10 games as underdogs vs. Milwaukee

Hawks-Bucks Player Props: How Well Do Pundits Pick?
I thought it would be interesting to see keep tabs on how well NBA pundits pick player props. Below is what Seth Greenberg had to say on ESPN’s Get Up this morning.

Trae Young, Over or Under 28.5 Points?
Seth Greenberg, ESPN’s Get Up: “He has to score more than 28 points for the Hawks to win, but I don’t think he gets there…When you have an ankle injury your ability to start, stop and changing speeds is hindered. Trae Young’s game is built on changing speeds and direction. It’s going to be hard to do that even if he takes some medication, so I think it’s an Under…I don’t think he gets them with a bummed ankle.”
Khris Middleton, Over or Under 23.5 Points
Greenberg: “I think it’s going to be Over on that. When you have a game like he had the other night, he’s going to start seeing a big basket. They aren’t just going to play through him at the end of the game. Middleton is matchup problem, especially when they go to that small lineup with Giannis at 5, Middleton gets more opportunities.”
Giannis Antetkounmpo, Over or Under 32.5 Points
Greenberg: “This dude is the Batman. I don’t know who Alfred the butler is, but this guy is the Batman. He gets 30+ every single night, 11 rebounds, and he does stuff you cannot prepare for.” — Yeah, Greenberg likes the Over here, too.
