Free MLB Player Props Picks For Tuesday
- Robbie Ray over 6.5 Strikeouts (-140, Caesars)
Robbie Ray has a 28.5% K rate so far this season and is actually projected to increase that rate for the rest of 2022. He has gone over this total in three-straight games. The projected Nationals’ lineup has only 18.4% K rate against left-handed hitters.
However, the sample size on three of their hitters is under 30 at-bats against lefties. If you look at the Nationals collectively across 2022, they strike out at the second-lowest rate in all of baseball. Again, there is a lot of noise in that stat.
The Nationals are now without Soto and Bell. I think Ray will dominate in this start and should be able to get over the 100-pitch mark, which should give him the opportunity to hit the over for this prop.
- Aaron Judge (+200, FanDuel) and Gleyber Torres (+525, Caesars) To Hit A Home Run
Normally, I don’t take a home-run prop under the +300 threshold, but today, I am willing to make an exception. Taijuan Walker is a massive reverse-splits pitcher, who really struggles with right handed power.
Judge went nine games without hitting a home run before hitting one off of Max Scherzer yesterday. I think that momentum carries over for tonight. Walker is coming off a back injury, and although I’m sure he’s feeling better, he may not be 100%. Walker also has a HR/FB ratio that is significantly lower than his career average.
He is due for some home run regression. Torres is more a price play than anything else. He obviously is not the most elite hitter but he does have power. I really like getting over 5-to-1 on my money, especially with that short porch in right field.
- Yordan Alvarez over .5 RBI’s (+110, DraftKings)
I always want to attack Aaron Sanchez when it comes to hitting props. His contract was selected by the Twins and he gets to face the offensive powerhouse Houston Astros this evening. I really don’t think this is going to end well for him.
Alvarez is going to get chances for RBI’s in this game and love that you can get this at plus money. Alvarez is one of the best overall hitters in baseball and you could take the home run prop at +250 but with Aaron Judge already on my betting card I really don’t want to do another bet with short odds. This is by far the safer play. Altuve should get on base at least twice and Alvarez will drive him in.
