Free MLB Player Prop Picks For Today

The sample size is still small with Bello, so I am certainly not saying he can’t live up to the hype at some point. I just don’t think he’s quite there yet. 

The first 17 innings of his MLB career have been nothing short of a disaster. Now, he is coming off of an injury, and I expect the Red Sox take it easy on him, despite the fact that he has two rehab starts under his belt.

Against right-handed hitters this season, he has just a 15.6% K rate. More importantly, the first four hitters in the Toronto lineup are all right-handed heavy and all strikeout well under 20% of the time. 

Bello is going to have trouble with that part of the lineup – not only with strikeouts – but I think it will also add to his pitch count. I am worried a little bit about Bo Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez, with their high level of strikeouts, but I have to assume some risk, because I feel really strongly that the top half of this Blue Jays’ lineup will give him a very difficult time. 

I am piggy backing off my last pick and anticipating a short tough outing for Bello. Vlad has a .229 ISO against right-handed pitchers, and like I said above, he has a very low strikeout rate. The temperature at Fenway tonight isn’t very high, but there is a steady breeze going straight out to left field. Remember the monster in left isn’t deep at all, and Fenway is one of the best home-run parks in baseball. 

Vlad’s hard hit capabilities of 43.8% against right-handed pitchers makes this number a great value.  I am also going to add Vlad’s over 1.5 total bases on DraftKings at -120 odds.
