Free MLB Player Props Picks For Friday

Gerrit Cole Over 7.5 Stirkeouts

We took some pretty bad beats in the pitching prop market last night, losing both bets on the hook. Let’s see if we can turn things around tonight, before heading into the weekend.

Believe it or not, Gerrit Cole strikes out left handed hitters 8% more of the time than right-handed batters. The A’s should be sending out at least five lefties against him tonight. The A’s strikeout more often against right-handed pitchers and totally lack the firepower to give Cole any kind of resistance in this start. Cole also gets one of the best pitching umpires you could ask for in Ryan Blakney. I don’t take huge stock in umpire data, but like we saw last night, every little margin helps.

Phillies Hitters vs. Bryce Wilson

It is once again going to be the Phillies (against Bryse Wilson), who are the best offense on the board this evening.

However, he isn’t the only Bryse that matters tonight. Bryce Harper is making his return to Philadelphia. It is always great when a superstar returns from injury in any sport. This spot for Wilson is going to be extremely difficult for him to navigate. On top of the loaded Phillies lineup, we are also going to see tremendously good hitting weather in Philadelphia – mid 80’s temps to go along with winds blowing out to center.

Let’s go over some picks and good value that the Phillies offer tonght.

Against left-handed hitters, Wilson yields 53.4% hard-hit percentage. He also gives up a .273 ISO against lefties. My first pick will be Kyle Schwarber +230 at FanDuel. This will be the chalk selection this evening, but I think it is worth it, despite the small return.

My next selection is Bryson Stott at +560 at FanDuel. Similar to Schwarber’s profile, we get hard hits and fly balls against a low-strikeout righty. Wilson gives up a ton of hard hits and that’s exactly what we want. This price is ripe for the picking and deserves consideration in the prop market this evening.
