Free MLB Player Props Picks For Today
- Dean Kremer over 4.5 Strikeouts (+110, BetMGM)
Kremer is not traditionally a pitcher we are looking to get exposure to in the strikeout prop market, but today I am willing to make an exception. Kremer’s K rate vs. left handed hitters is around 22% and he is slated to face at least five lefties today. Kremer has shown pretty solid peripherals with a 10.8% swinging-strike rate. I like the positive odds the books are offering on this line. Projection models have him projected for a full strikeout higher than Vegas. I will lean on projections and the fact that he should have no issue getting through this Oakland lineup at an efficient rate.
- Yu Darvish under 5.5 Strikeouts (+115, BetMGM)
Unless your name is Jacob deGrom, this is one of the toughest matchups in all of baseball. It is unfortunate that we will likely see Joey Gallo in the lineup, due to his extremely high strikeout rate. Six of the nine projected hitters in this Dodgers lineup strikeout at a rate under 18%. Darvish is a quality pitcher, but he is not a truly elite strikeout pitcher. His strikeout rate is right around the 25% mark, and it actually goes down significantly against right-handed bats. There is a solid chance that the Dodgers light him up and end his start early. At positive odds, I think this wager is profitable in the long run.
- Bobby Witt Jr. over .5 Home Runs (+490, Caesars)
Drew Hutchison has next to no ability to strike out right-handed hitters. He does a good enough job of keeping the ball on the ground, but I think he is going to have a hard time containing Witt with his hard hits and fly ball tendencies. The odds for him to hit a homer are too high. Witt was a highly regarded prospect and he has certainly delivered in his rookie season. I don’t think you will see odds for him to homer at this number in the next few seasons to come. Hutchison has only a 7.7% HR/FB ratio this season, but his career ration is over 11%. He has home-run regression coming his way. I will also be adding MJ Melendez to hit a homer at +500 which is also offered at Caesars.
