Detroit Tigers To Win (Moneyline) vs. Cleveland Guardians
- Current Odds: -137 on BetRivers
There is no doubt that the Tigers have failed miserably in relation to the improved expectations many had for them in 2022. However, there are some bright spots. Tarik Skubal is one of them. Skubal is one of the emerging young pitchers in the game, as he has a 2.22 ERA and 2.61 xFIP so far this season to go along with a sparkling 50/8 K/BB ratio over 44 ⅔ innings of work. The Tigers are also bringing in some momentum after an extra inning win over the Twins on Wednesday. I expect Skubal to carry them to a win over the Guardians here, with the Tigers owning a big edge on the mound today.
Kansas City Royal vs. Minnesota Twins Over 8 Total Runs
We have a pair of underwhelming lefties going in this game with inconsistent Daniel Lynch starting for Kansas City and Devin Smeltzer going for the Twins. The Kansas City pitching staff was pummeled by Arizona earlier this week, with the bullpen also in shambles right now. I expect some offense in this game given the pitching matchup, and the total is still relatively low given the inconsistencies of both offenses. Don’t expect 20 runs here, but a 6-4 game suits us perfectly well for an over bet.
Los Angeles Dodgers Runline (-1.5) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
- Current Odds: -115 on DraftKings
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been playing well of late, winning five of six to climb back above the .500 mark for the season. However, those wins came against the Cubs and Royals, clearly a step down from the competition they will face throughout the year in the difficult National League West. Their last series against the Dodgers ended in a four game sweep for Los Angeles, and it’s difficult to see Humberto Castellanos shutting down this dangerous Dodger lineup. Los Angeles should be playing with some fire after a lethargic shutout loss to the woeful Nationals yesterday, and I expect them to win this game comfortably. I’ll take some alternate run lines as well (-2.5, -3.5 at higher odds).
