Free NBA Betting Picks For Today
Philadelphia 76ers @ Miami Heat
Despite being without Joel Embiid for the first two games of the series with an orbital fracture and a concussion I think that the 76ers can hang with the Heat in Game 1. This line seems a little too high for me, the 76ers still have a really capable starting five with the potential to put up enough points to keep this game close. Let’s not forget that Philly still has James Harden. He might not be in his prime anymore, but he is still more than capable to take over any game against anyone.
Is there a chance that Harden did stay in his hotel room last night while taking in the South Beach view from his hotel room? Anything is possible. Anyway, back to the court. The Heat also have injury concerns of their own. Kyle Lowry has already been ruled out. He is not a huge loss in terms of filling up the stat sheet but this is a type of series that I want Lowry in the game if I am a fan of the Heat. This game should be slow paced and tightly contested every possession. The Heat will be without their floor general and I think that further allows Philly to stay in this game.
- Pick: Philadelphia +7.5 (-110), Multiple Sportsbooks

Seattle Mariners @ Houston Astros
Getting Jose Altuve back will definitely help this watered down version of the Astros lineup. I still think that the Mariners will get the win tonight. I think the books still give an unwarranted bump to the Astros due to their success over the years, but this is not the same group that it used to be. Springer and Correa are gone and the young group of depth players are good but they strike out at a heavy rate. Jake Odorizzi is someone I want to attack.
He gives up a lot of hard contact and doesn’t have strikeout upside. He faced this same Mariners team two weeks ago and got shelled. On the other side of this game, Marco Gonzalez has a similar skill set than Odorizzi, but slightly more effective. Yes, the Astros will get some hard hits against Marco, but I still strongly lean on being able to get out of jams and prevent the big inning. The Mariners lineup is underrated by Vegas in this game and I think there is value in taking them as road dogs.
- Pick: Seattle, Moneyline (+115), Multiple Sportsbooks

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Toronto Maple Leafs
I am very bullish on the Lightning to win this series and will be betting on them to win the series at +100 on DK. I think that they get off to a hot start right out of the gate. The Lightning are built for the playoffs. They have won the last two Stanley Cups and still have the integral parts of those teams. The Maple Leafs haven’t gotten out of the first round since 2004
I understand that Auston Matthews is one of if not the best offensive players in hockey but hockey is a team sport and the playoffs are more about defense and goaltending than in the regular season. Andrei Vasilevskiy had a pedestrian season by his standards, but he is not someone I want to bet against in the postseason.
- Pick: Tampa Bay, Moneyline (+105), DraftKings Sportsbook
NHL Shot Prop – Adrian Kempe
I don’t usually like the idea of laying -140 juice on a shot prop but I am not going to hesitate on this one. Anze Kopitar has no interest in shooting the puck and is making a concerted effort to get Kempe the puck and have him be the volume shooter on the first line. It’s also important to think about game environment when considering any kind of player prop. The Kings should be playing from behind which will force the Kings to shoot the puck. The Oilers play at a wide open fast paced style of hockey which should allow for offensive zone time for the Kings as a whole.
- Pick: Adrian Kempe Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-140), DraftKings Sportsbook
