Atlanta Hawks vs. Miami Heat
This pick may seem a little chalky, but I think the Hawks are way overmatched. The Heat do such a tremendous job of neutralizing the opposing teams top scoring threat as we saw in Game 1 where Trae Young shot 1-12 from the floor and finished with a -22 +/-. Obviously that game is an outlier and I wouldn’t expect that bad of a showing from him again tonight, that being said I don’t expect a total bounce back to his season averages either.
The Heat are so much better in every facet of the game and without Clint Capela the Hawks have no rim protection. Bam Adebayo is listed as questionable with a bruised quad but I am assuming he suits up and he will have no problem handling Onyeka Okongu. Look for the Heat to win this game pretty easily and cover the seven point spread. The Hawks will probably steal a game in this series but that won’t come in Miami.
- PICK: Miami -7 (-110 ), Multiple Sportsbooks
NBA Player Prop –– Karl-Anthony Towns
KAT should be playing around the 40 minute mark in this pivotal Game 2 against the Grizzlies, and I think that this PRA is far too low. He put up 45 PRA in Game 1, and if I were to set this line, I’d put it at 42. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t change this line after Game 1. Even at the increased juice, this is a positive expected value bet.
Steven Adams lacks the foot speed to stay with the far more athletic KAT and Jaren Jackson Jr. who is a really good defender has a massive fouling problem and even if he doesn’t get into foul trouble will have his hands full with KAT. If you don’t want to take the PRA line and are concerned about the variance of rebounds and assists I also like the KAT over 24.5 points at -115.
- PICK: Karl Anthony Towns over 37.5 PRA (-145), DraftKings

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Boston Red Sox
After an embarrassing loss yesterday to the Twins on Patriots Day I fully expect the Red Sox to bounce back against their division rival Blue Jays. I really like the Boston righties to get to Kikuchi who gives up a lot of hard contact to righty bats. You could take the Red Sox for the full game but I think the first five bet offers better value.
Clearly, the Blue Jays have plenty of power on their squad that they can throw at Eovaldi, but they are so right-handed heavy, that at least Eovaldi will have the splits in his favor. Additionally, Eovaldi has pitched really well in his first two starts, including an appearance against a very similar team as the Jays –– the Yankees, who are also very right-handed heavy. I expect the Red Sox to get to Kikuchi early and often, and for Eovaldi to be able hold his own against the power bats of the Jays.
- PICK: Boston, First 5 innings -.5 (-105), DraftKings
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Miami Marlins
This line is likely to move to 7.5 but I still think it is worth a bet. Jesus Luzardo had the best start of his career and his stuff looked truly electric. The Marlins have a true stud in the making and I hope he continues to pitch well, because he could be one of the best in baseball in a couple of years.
Adam Wainwright is toward the end of his career, but his consistency is unmatched. He just never seems to get blown up and I don’t see that happening today against a well below average offense. This ballpark is one of the best pitchers parks in all of baseball which will help us prevent homers which kill under bets.
- PICK: Under 8 Total Runs (-125), DraftKings

NHL Player Prop –– Adrian Kempe
In my opinion the NHL shot prop market is the softest market in all of sports. There are plenty of good bets tonight on the shot prop market but my favorite is Kempe. He skates with Anze Kopitar who is a pass first center and is feeding Kempe the puck. Despite being on the road today the Kings as a whole get a very good matchup against the well below average Ducks team. There should be plenty of offensive zone for the Kings top 6 and Kempe plays a consistent 20 minutes a night. The Kings are still clinging on to a playoff spot in the West but desperately need to win tonight. Look for Kempe to be very aggressive on the offensive end of the ice.
- PICK: Adrian Kempe over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-130), DraftKings
