St. Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers
Adam Wainwright came right out of the gate and threw 81 pitches of scoreless baseball along with six strikeouts. To be fair, that was against the offensively anemic Pirates squad, but his velocity and stamina were what we have to come to expect from this savvy veteran pitcher. Brandon Woodruff, on the other side of this game, struggled in his opening outing only lasting 3.2 innings and giving seven earned runs. One positive from that outing is that the Brewers coaching staff did allow him to throw 89 pitches in his first start, which leads me to believe he is fully stretched out. I don’t expect Woodruff’s struggles to continue against the right handed heavy lineup of the Cardinals.
He should be able to get through this lineup without too much trouble. The Brewers offense is vastly overrated in my opinion and gets a lot of credit from name recognition and not from results. Either way I think that Wainwright can keep up with his consistent pitching and neutralize the Brewers lineups. You can consider a First 5 under if you want to avoid the bullpen variance but I prefer the full game total.
- PICK: Under 8 Total Runs (-110), Multiple Sportsbooks
Atlanta Braves @ San Diego Padres
If I am handicapping who is better between Charlie Morton and Joe Musgrove than I will give a pretty strong lean to Morton. That doesn’t mean any disrespect to Musgrove, that is more me trying to show the belief I have in Morton’s skill set. The same goes for the Braves offense vs the Padres offense. The Padres offense has a HUGE hole in it without the services of Fernando Tatis and it has really been showing.
Now I know that we are early in the season but the Padres offense has had only one big game this season and that was against the Diamondbacks and their abysmal bullpen. I am going to bet on the Braves with this game just for the value of the line. I think they should be around -130 or -140 favorites. The Braves lost their three game series to the Nationals which is a very poor result. I think they regain their focus behind their veteran pitcher and take the first game of this series in San Diego.
- PICK: Atlanta Braves MoneyLine (-110), Multiple Sportsbooks
Free MLB Single Game Parlay For Today
The Rockies get a really juicy matchup at home against Justin Steele who won’t be a starter in this rotation by the end of the season and should find himself back in the bullpen when the injured Cub starters make it from the IL. I am going to go home run hunting against him with some of the Colorado righties and hope that variance is on my side. At most with any parlay don’t wager anything over .25 units!! Here is the 3 leg SGP of the day.
MLB Single Game Parlay – DraftKings (+2200)
- Over 11.5 Total Runs
- Kris Bryant to hit a homer
- C.J. Cron to hit a homer

Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins
Boston comes into this game having lost two straight games and three of their last four. The Bruins are also only one point back from the Lightning in the Eastern Conference and will be playing this game hard to earn two points. Even if Pastrnak misses this game I think the depth of the Bruins will be able to step up and handle this game pretty easily on home ice.
The Senators have picked up some wins but those have been against the Red Wings and the Canaidans, they have not won a game against a playoff caliber opponent in over a month. I like that I can get this -1.5 wager at close to even money and with all the huge favorites on the betting board this evening this game offers the best puckline value.
- PICK: Boston Puckline -1.5, (-105), DraftKings
San Jose Sharks @ Chicago Blackhawks
Well this is not the game I was hoping to be betting on when I saw this massive NHL slate on tap. The Sharks have lost seven straight games, however the Blackhawks have lost eight games in a row!. The Sharks have at least looked like a competitive professional hockey team during their losing streak playing one goal games against the Predators, Oilers and Stars.
All of those teams are in the playoffs as of now. Chicago on the other hand have lost six straight games by at least two goals and despite still playing their top line heavy minutes seem to be a team that is just broken. Vegas oddsmakers seem to agree with me by posting the Sharks as road favorites. I think that the Sharks take care of business tonight with a big offensive game from the Sharks top 6.
- PICK: San Jose Moneyline (-115), DraftKings
Free NHL Player Prop For Today –– Jake DeBrusk
I already mentioned above how much I like the Bruins today on home ice against the Senators and getting plus money on this prop seems like a steal to me. The top line of the Bruins should have their way pretty easily with whatever line Ottawa elects to throw at them. With Bergeron and Marchand often looking to pass the puck in the offensive zone it will be DeBrusk who stands to benefit. I wouldn’t mind if you wanted to throw a little over a unit on this bet if you are in agreement. I will likely be playing 1.5 units on this prop.
- PICK: Jake DeBrusk Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (+120), Multiple Sportsbooks
