Free NBA Betting Picks For Today
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Brooklyn Nets
The Nets have had a hard time covering the spread all season long. Even though I don’t like using trends from the regular season when wagering on post season games I think this stat is relevant. Vegas seems to really over value the Nets. The Nets did cover this number last time these two teams played on April 8th. The Nets won by 11.
Now I want to discuss this outcome. Bruce Brown had one of the best games of his career and was two assists shy from a triple double. That is not going to happen again tonight. Of course Kyrie and KD could go completely off and break this game wide open, but that has not been the way Nets play this year and have had a really hard time blowing teams out. The Cavs are really missing Jarrett Allen on the interior but I still think Garland and company can keep this game inside the 9.5 number.
- PICK: Cleveland Cavaliers + 9.5 (-110), Multiple Sportsbooks
Los Angeles Clippers @ Minnesota Timberwolves
If you can only find the Clippers +3, then I think that is worth a bet also. I contemplated taking the Clippers moneyline, but elected to just take the points instead. Despite having a difficult regular season, the Clippers are getting healthy at the perfect time getting Paul George and Norman Powell back right before the end of the regular season. The Clippers have a veteran team up-and-down their lineup and will not be intimidated by this road matchup against the Timberwolves.
Minnesota has minimal playoff experience (minus Pat Beverley) and I think they will have their hands full tonight trying to guard Paul George. I think a lot of pressure will be put on KAT to take over this game, and in my opinion, he won’t be able to do that, despite having a good matchup against Zubac. The Clippers also have head coach Ty Lue, who in my opinion, is one of the best coaches in the NBA. He’ll have his guys prepared for whatever Minnesota throws at them.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Islanders
Both of these teams are frustrating to wager on or against. The Islanders always seem to outplay their advanced metrics and just always seem to get luckier than they should on the defensive end of the ice. Offensively they are one the worst teams in the NHL ranking 28th in Corsi For/Per-60.
They are also bottom-five in both scoring chances allowed and expected goals against. However, they just don’t give up goals at the rate that they should. Well I am still a believer in the underlying metrics of this team, I don’t think they are very good at all. The Penguins are the more talented team and I think the line is appropriate for a wager on them to win straight up.
- Pick: Pittsburgh Penguins, Moneyline (-120), FanDuel
Los Angeles Kings @ Chicago Blackhawks
If you are looking for my conviction play of the day on this NHL slate –– this is it. The Blackhawks have shown no ability to win games going down the stretch. They have lost seven straight games including games against the Coyotes, Kraken, and Sabres. The Kings are in desperate need of a win, as they hang on for their playoff lives. They have lost three-straight games and tonight is an absolute must-win for them.
They have enough talent and leadership in the locker room to handle this type of situation. I do expect there to be goals allowed on both sides so I might throw a little something on a Kings to win and the over six total goals in a parlay. The Kopitar line should see twenty plus minutes this evening. I expect them to lead their team to win.
- PICK: LA Kings, Moneyline (-145) Multiple Sportsbooks
NHL Single Game Parlay For Today
Anytime I do a single game parlay, I never bet more than a quarter of one unit. They are more for fun than anything. I don’t consider them edge bets. So when considering a parlay, be extra responsible with your bankroll. I do, however, really like the Kings’ moneyline and the over, so if you want to go up to a half-unit on those two, I would be OK with that.
Let’s try to replicate yesterday’s success with another one!
- LA Kings Moneyline
- Over 6.5 Total Goals
- Adrian Kempe Anytime Goalscorer
- LA Kings first goal
- PICK: Four-leg SGP (+700), DraftKings

Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees
The Yankees got embarrassed at home last night getting shutout by a truly elite pitcher Alek Monoah. They didn’t start Donaldson last night so I expect he will be back in the lineup tonight. I expect this will be a big bounce spot for the Yankees against Yusei Kikuchi. Kikuchi loves to give up homers to right handed hitters and if that is your weakness then you have come to the wrong place against this Yankees team.
I am considering throwing a little bit of dough on a Judge to homer prop, but that would just be for fun. If Nestor Cortes can have even an average performance this evening, the Yankees bullpen is so good, they will be able to hold off this tremendous Blue Jays’ offense. If the Blue Jays score only three runs again, like they did last night, they will be losing this game in a big way.
- PICK: NY Yankees, Moneyline, (-120), BetMGM
